I enjoyed this! Brian Bolland has been one of absolute favorites for decades. It's hard to recall for sure back into the late 1970s and early 80s, but I'm sure I was first exposed to him in 2000AD. Something about the boldness, cleanness of line, and humor of his style that remains unique.
I wish I could remember the name of the first comics shop I frequented in Bristol in the 1970s. The second one was definitely Forever People not far from QEH -- the boarding school I went to. Or maybe FP was the first and my vague memory is wrong. It's great reading your (illustrated!) memories.

Cheers, Max!

The Popular Book Centre was the first (almost a) comics shop for me! I appreciate the feedback, Max.
Nothing re the Actress and the Bishop!?!? (BTW: was it ever collected?)
