We stayed there for a week in one of the houses in the village. The public were kicked out at 5pm and then us and the other residents had it to our selves. It was much spookier then when it was almost deserted,
It's funny how many of us were down in Cornwall! However, like Sean in Port Meirion, we'd gone down for a week camping round Land's End with friends and family. Very different experience, but it was definitely spooky and magical event.
From the line-up at Grant's birthday celebration, I imagine there were a few interesting tales told that evening! Loved this account of your eclipse-trip. My favourite line from the video has to be "Like having Aleister Crowley staying in your spare room." Probably needed a psychic detox...
Thanks, Dave! Yeah, I can still picture us politely sitting around the breakfast table, knowing what had transpired in their daughter's room upstairs. :) Can't believe it was a quarter of a century ago already!
I enjoyed your recounting of the trip. My own experience with a total eclipse (a couple of decades ago) ended up being a near-fatal car crash in Mexico. This was also a reminder to me to queue up some of Grant Morrison's work for re-reading.

I can well imagine. It would be even spookier if those white rover things were bouncing around!
I saw this eclipse in Port Meirion and sent Grant a postcard from there as I knew he was into the Prisoner!
I bet that was surreal, seeing it from there! I've never been. Always wanted to see what it was like.

What a great story - genuinely laughed out loud at the image of Grant Morrison knocking on doors and terrifying the locals!

What an epic journey!

I just spent a few minutes starting at the homepage of your gallery. Trippy and atmospheric! Now I'm going to look through all your amazing photos.
Thanks, Max!
Yikes!
