Ha! Looks like all 80s/90s publishing offices were essentially identical. Different posters, same Macs. I had copies of MacUser and The Mac under my desk, you had 2000ADs under yours. Ah, print...

Floppy disks and Syquest drives! Ugh! I don’t miss those at all.

Syquests - what PIAs. Back up each issue onto them. Come back a year later to arrange a reprint and none of the QuarkXpress files will open. Damaged beyond even Disk First Aid's ability to recover.

Great stuff Steve, as always. Even though we were kinda the opposition over at Dark Horse International and then Manga Publishing, these bring back fab memories of the times (yours are obviously far more enhanced – I won't mention by what means – than mine) and "all the young (comic) dudes". Keep it up.

Cheers, Cefn! I wish I'd taken some photos of the Manga Mania office now :)

Fantastic photos and memories Steve! Funny what else you recall years later though. Remember the haunted lift at Egmont House that went up and down by itself at night, opening ominously to the terrified security guard? Now and then for laughs it liked to maroon someone in the basement. I also remember sabotaging a psycho aircon that was trying to turn Alan and I into corpsicles. 'An evil old office, the kind some people call haunted, heh heh...'

Thanks, John! I’d forgotten all about that lift. Thanks for finding those photos too. I’d always wished I’d taken a photo of our units, I’m so glad you did.

Likewise with your photos of Brett, Steve and the Deadline gang. Gone but never forgotten.
