The starburst filter effects looks much like cosmic superheroes glowing with energy. No wonder you (and I) like it!

Inevitably, this draws my mind to Supernature by Cerrone and Sarah Brightman and Hot Gossip (especially doing Starship Troopers). Going to take a cold shower now.

Supernature is an all-time favourite, and Cerrone is still making great music.

I checked out out some of the Supernature mixes a few months ago. Your comment prompted me to queue up some more of their pieces that I have never heard.

Standing naked and alone in front of the world, I declare: I like disco -- the music, the style, the lighting, the outfits, and all of it -- and I say so without shame! Don't you dare sparkle-shame me! I also like Captain Marvel radiating healing energy, both in Starlin and Broderick versions. A subtle connection probably exists between them. Also a connection with skintight, sparkly circus acrobats. They made an impression on me at an early stage.

I'll stop here before I embarrass myself or others too much. I have no shame but don't wish to pain those who do. :-)

Although we do share similar tastes in most things, sadly I have to part company with you on Disco. I detested Disco with a passion. Great post though!

Thanks, Dave!

Not even ’Heart of Glass’?

Ah, I always make an exception for Blondie..

Another amazing (and very personal) post, Steve. Your friend Sue reminds me of Madonna in her 'Confessions' era! More than anyone who isn't actually a Time Lord, you have your own personal Tardis... The 1970s never looked more – well, 70s – beautifully arranged, lit and art directed too. If I ever do master time travel I'll hire you to reshoot all my poorly composed, tiny, brown Kodak Instamatic childhood memories!

I really appreciate your nice comments, John! I’ll be happy to assist you with the 1970s reshoot, but wouldn’t we be better off spending the time stashing really rare old comics somewhere safe, ready to unearth in 2024?

Good plan! There's probably some temporal bylaw about going back no further than the start of your own timeline, or I'd head for 1938 and bag a pile of Superman #1. But if there are no limits... someone did steal the Mona Lisa in 1911, after all. Maybe it was me (or will be!). I'll shut the hell up now.

I just knew you had something to do with it!

I was thinking the same thing. What became of Sue and Carole! Really interesting post.

Fab memories!

Are you still in touch with Sue and Carole?

It would be interesting to hear what they remember of the shoots.

I’d truly love that, Simon. Unfortunately it was 46 years ago, and I lost touch in those far off days before cellphones and the internet. They were both really happy with all of the shots when we got them back from processing, and I’m keeping my fingers crossed that I’ll run into them one day, so I can do a post like this one, with Mima.
