Not long after the film’s release I discovered these two oversized (11”x17”) photographic prints in Forbidden Planet’s Movie shop which was being run by Alan Jones and Richard Holliss of Starburst magazine fame at the time. There was also a woman called Merlin who worked with them; a pretty cool name to have! If you look at the side of Catherine Deneuve’s face there’s a blue ink line which was probably there as a guide for the retoucher before finalising these for publicity.
